Estameran Dates
Estameran dates, also known as Sayer dates, is one of the most popular and best-selling date products in Iran. Estameran dates are mainly planted in Khuzestan and southern cities of Iran. This date has a very high sugar content and is considered one of the sweetest dates.
Sayer dates (Estameran dates) are one of the sweetest dates in the world. Its sugar content is above 75%.
Harvest Time
The Time of harvesting Estameran dates or other dates is around the beginning of September to the beginning of October. This product is one of the major export dates that are exported to Europe. The cultivated palm groves are the Estameran of Khuzestan province.
About 70% of Khuzestan province is included in this product and it is part of semi-dry dates with less than 18% moisture. This has caused it to have better and longer storage conditions than other dates. The harvest time of these palms is late September and early October.
Sayer dates can be stored for a long time (about 15 months) in covered warehouses at ambient temperature, without any problems, this practice facilitates the export of powdered Sayer dates, so that something like 45% of Iran’s date export share belongs to colonized or Sayer dates.
Estameran dates or other dates are classified as semi-dry or semi-moist dates and have less than 18% moisture. This has greatly contributed to the better and longer storage of these dates. It has even provided easier conditions for the export of this product.
Packing
The most common type of date packing for export is 5 and 10 kg cartons. The type of these cartons is usually laminated. According to experts, this date contains more than 75% sugar, and people with diabetes should be careful when consuming it.
This date can easily be stored in a covered warehouse for about 15 months under normal conditions and does not require abnormal temperature. About 45% of these dates are exported and it is one of the most economical and cost-effective types of dates in Iran for global and of course domestic consumption.
The color of this date is dark brown and sometimes tends to black and red. Due to its high sugar content, other dates (Estameran) dissolve quickly in water and create a lot of sweetness. The degree of stickiness of the core to the flesh of Sayer dates is very low.
Its core is easily and easily separated from dates and has the ability to be de-seeded. The most customers of Sayer dates for export are European countries, Russia, North America, New Zealand and Arab countries.
Due to the high sugar content of this date, it can be easily dissolved in water and used with tea or other types of drinks. Of course, this type of date is also used to produce sweets or drinks, and if it is used for production, the sugar of that product can be classified among natural sugars.
